Being worn out by long hours doesn’t mean you can’t cope
Living in pressure and deadlines for a long stretch slowly drains both body and mood. Feeling exhausted, irritable, numb, or uninterested in everything is a natural response to being overloaded. It doesn’t mean you aren’t trying hard enough, or that you are wrong for the job. You have been holding on for a long time, and the tiredness is real and deserves to be taken seriously.
In the Field Room, set today down
Outside the Field Room balcony is an open field, quiet at night, and there are no work chats here and nobody waiting for your reply. Write on a bedside note the thing that wore you out most today, then one thing you can skip tomorrow or hand to someone else, and fold it away so it stays only on your device. Tonight you could put your phone on do not disturb, have something warm to drink, and go to bed a little earlier. If working like this keeps you from sleeping, makes you feel unwell, or you start to feel you can’t keep going, it may help to talk with someone you trust or a professional.
No account, no name, and you can leave whenever you like.
