Job hunting being hard doesn’t mean you aren’t good enough
Whether an application works out often depends on how many openings there are, timing, budgets, or simply who happened to read your résumé, and only partly on what you can really do. Being turned down again and again can leave you disappointed, anxious, embarrassed, even doubting yourself, and all of that is normal. What was rejected was one match at one moment, not you as a person. Keeping at it, application after application, is already hard work.
In the Morning Room, let yourself catch your breath
A little morning light comes through the Morning Room curtains, there are no job-app notifications here, and nobody is asking how it’s going. Write on a bedside note the thing that has discouraged you most lately, then three things you genuinely managed, like finishing a new version of your résumé, getting through an interview, or simply getting up today, and fold it away so it stays only on your device. Tonight you can skip the listings and go to bed early, then take it one step at a time tomorrow. If this pressure keeps you from sleeping or eating for a long time, or you start to feel worthless, it may help to talk with someone you trust or a professional.
