Feeling helpless doesn’t mean you didn’t try
Helplessness often comes because you truly care and truly tried, and a big part of this was never in your hands to begin with. We tend to read “I can’t change it” as “I’m not good enough,” but often it only means the thing is too big and too heavy for one person to carry. Admitting that takes courage.
In the Forest Cabin, set yourself down for a while
Outside the Forest Cabin the trees stand quietly and the leaves rustle in the wind, asking nothing of you. Draw a line down a bedside note: on the left, write the parts of this you can’t change, and on the right, one small thing you can still do for yourself today, even just a warm drink or an earlier night, then fold it away so it stays only on your device. If this helplessness lasts a long time, if you can’t eat or sleep, or you feel you can’t keep going, please reach out to someone you trust or a professional.
